Hi I’m Lisa Cutler from The Butterfly Program and welcome to this Monday Motivator session on ‘Sharing Your Success’.

Let me ask you a question, what have you done today to share your success? In fact what have you done this week to share you success? My bet is probably not very much. One of the things that we are very good at doing as women is not sharing our success. We’re very good at putting our head down and working really really hard and then hoping for that recognition and appreciation from somebody else without actually telling anybody what we’re doing, what we’ve achieved. Something else we’re really good at is achieving things and going “yep I’m moving straight on to the next thing” without even stopping to recognize and appreciate and acknowledge what it is that we have done.

So what I would like you to do today is have a look at what has been your recent successes. And I bet you there’s a few of them. And what have you done to share those. Even if it’s a quick email just saying “Oh just to let you know this has been successfully completed” or “This is what we’ve achieved through doing this”. Whatever it may be, it’s not bragging, it’s not being arrogant, it’s letting other people know what you have achieved, what you are doing.

It’s a very very important aspect of our work. Letting people know what we have achieved and therefore what else we are capable of.

So take the time today to have a look at your successes and share them. And make this a regular part of what you do. It’s absolutely vital for career progression. We can’t expect other people to know what we’ve achieved without sharing it with them. We can’t expect other people to know what we are capable of unless we show them what we’ve done. So share your success.
